You can find information concerning the festivals looking at Cubamemucho. The family Sonnenschein organizes these cuban festivals and wants to make cuban salsa popular everywhere – as well as we try it here in NRW in Germany (Rhine-Rur-area).
Ralf Sonnenschein performs pioneerwork in order to make cuban salsa popular all over Europe.
This Cubamemucho festival will have its top event in Havanna in 2007.
My first experience with Cubamemucho was in Berlin in 2006. In former times I have already visited other Salsa festivals (New York Style) before I got to know cuban salsa.
At Cubamemucho everything is more familiar. No high-flown wanna-be superstars, as I met them at other festivals. That does not mean that all dancing teachers were like that – I also got to know some who were not so narcisstic and inapproachable and whose were kind and open with their dance students, but at Cubamemucho all of them are very kind without affectations.
As a beginner you must not fear to ask a dancing teacher on one of the following parties wether he or she likes to dance with you. Therefrom some of the dancing teachers can take a leaf out of their books.
Concerning the quality of the dancing teachers there is nothing more to say then: phenomenal.
After having visited the Cubamemucho festival this year already two time, as mentioned above in Berlin and also in Madrid, it is already decided that I will be visiting the next festival in Amsterdam – and perhaps even 2007 in Havanna.
Ich know why I love the cuban salsa and if you visit one of the festivals from the family Sonnenschein you will understand what I mean. There fun, love and the delight in cuban salsa and to the music is transmitted.
Well I am really looking forward to visit the Amsterdam festival – perhaps we see us there.
